Clinique High Impact Mascara

What is it? A richly pigmented mascara that kicks up the volume of each individual lash.
How much is it? $16
Where to buy it? Sephora ,Ulta, Clinique, Nordstroms or wherever Clinique products are sold

What is it supposed to do? Add instant drama, volume, length and make lashes look lusher, plusher and bolder.
What does it ACTUALLY do? It did add instant drama, volume and length in my opinion. It coated the lashes quite well and the mascara color was quite dark which I like. It made my lashes look really long and was not very clumpy or thick after three coats.

                                                                      Naked Eye

Three coats of Clinique High Impact Mascara

Overall thoughts?  This mascara lived up to it's claims and them some. It made my lashes look super long. There was almost no clumping and I really liked the formula. The price is a bit high for me to purchase on a regular basis. Had it been a lengthening and thickening formula it may have been my new favorite mascara. I bought this mascara knowing it was lengthening but prefer a bit more thickness in my mascara normally. Overall I am pleased with this mascara, I think that it trumps Sonia Kashuk Lashify which I have been using ( which is also a lengthening mascara) but because of the price I would probably stick with Lashify for the time being.

Have you tried Clinique High Impact mascara? If so what did you think? Can you recommend a good lengthening  and thickening mascara for me??

Anastasia Beverly Hills Hypercolor Lash and Brow Tint

Please note that these items were sent to me for promotional purposes.

 photo 064.jpg
Last month I was happily surprised to find a package in my mail box from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I have tried quite a few of their products and really like them. Especially the teal Hypercolor brow powder and the Noir Covet eyeliner. You can see my previous reviews of Anastasia Beverly Hills products by clicking the links below.
Covet Eyeliners
Bold and Beautiful Palette
Hypercolor Brow and Hair Powder

In the Pink
Electric Blue
Ultra Violet

 photo 063.jpg
What is it? Bright colored tint for your lashes and brows.
How much is it? $22
Where to buy it? http://www.anastasia.net/Hypercolor-Brow-and-Lash-Tint.html
 photo 039.jpg

I just lightly ran the mascara wand across my arm for the swatches below.
Because I am have a hair phobia I just have to point out that my arm is NOT
hairy, it is the way the mascara brushed on my skin.
 photo 065.jpg
What is it supposed to do? Text taken from the product listing at Anastasia.net  " Vivid tint adds a flash of intense color to your brows and even doubles as a curling mascara for ultra-bright lashes! NTENSE, ultra-bright brow and lash color without dyeing or bleaching. Flake-Proof. Fast-Drying. Film-Forming polymer helps define and hold the brow and curls the lashes."
What does it ACTUALLY do? The colors are very vivid with the exception of Ultra Violet which is a bit dark. I personally did not find the formula to be curling but it the formula gave great coverage over my lashes which are a dark brown with just a couple coats.

Ultra Violet, In The Pink and Electric Blue Lash Tint on the lashes.
Electric Blue Hypercolor Brow Powder mixed to make a liner
Ultra Violet, Teal Tornado and Electric Blue Brow Powder on my brows
 photo Ana1.jpg
Overall thoughts? My overall thoughts are I like this product as a mascara. I personally had a hard time using it on my brows. The mascara spoolie is standard size and quite hard to apply to brows with any precision. I think they should have made the spoolie smaller. I found In The Pink to be more clumpier than the other two colors but easy enough to work with. I personally would have liked to see Ultra Violet be a brighter purple. My favorite is Electric Blue by a landslide. The formula is great and the coverage is superb. I think $22 is a fair price as this is a high end brand but I am sure people on a budget or who are not used to spending a lot on makeup would find this price a bit high. I will purchase Electric Blue when my tube runs out.

Sonia Kashuk Lashify Mascara

I am on a never ending quest to find the perfect mascara!

What is it? lengthening mascara with a comb to leave your lashes clump free
How much is it? $6.99 ( I paid only $3.50 on clearance)
Where to buy it? Target

What is it supposed to do? Give your lashes clump free color and length
What does it ACTUALLY do? It gave them color and length for sure. I did two coats and started noticing a tiny bit of clumping but combed the clumps out.

Overall thoughts? This is a nice formula and the little comb is great. My lashes are wonky from wearing false lashes and the comb helped to separate them and get them back in place. I have a bunch of new eyelashes that want to grow sideways or downwards. The price is really nice at only $6.99. It is cheaper than some  of the drug store brands and in my opinion a better formula than a lot of them as well. However this is not the mascara I have been looking for. For daily use and in general it is a great mascara. I am still looking for a mascara that knocks my socks off!

Too Faced lashGASM mascara

What is it? Vitamin rich lengthening mascara
 How much is it? $21

Where to buy it? Too Faced website, Sephora and Ulta

What is it supposed to do? Information from the Too Faced website :
The vitamin-rich, creamy formula penetrates for high-color absorbency and exaggerated length. Multiple rows of flexible yet firm, molded bristles are designed with micro-hooks that grab each and every lash for a gorgeous, clump-free application.
Pigment-Rich Payoff: Vitamin-rich, creamy formula penetrates for high-color absorbency and exaggerated depth. Lash Protection: Meadow foam Seed Oil forms a protective barrier to lock in soothing emollients that promote long term wear without drying or harming lashes. Conditioning: A moisturizing combination of Panthenol, Vitamins A & E and Jojoba Seed Oil hydrates and soothes lashes to keep them soft, light and flexible.

What does it ACTUALLY do? It did noticeably lengthen my lashes. I can't say that my lashes felt more conditioned. As far as the color pigmentation they claim, I have tried many other mascaras that are blacker and more pigmented.

Overall thoughts? I liked this mascara a lot. It does live up to it's claims to lengthen which I really liked. The formula is nice and smooth. I was able to apply two coats without clumping. It wore well for hours, no flaking at all and washed off easily. At $21 it is out of my normal price range so I most likely would not buy it again.

Have you tried Too Faced lashGasm? If so what did you think? Do you think that drug store mascaras compare?

Cover Girl Lash Blast Luxe Mascara

What is it? Cover Girl Last Blast Luxe mascara in Black Royale
How much is it? $6.99 ( I had a $2 off coupon so I paid $4.99)
Where to buy it? Target, Wal- Mart, Drug Stores, Grocery Stores, Ulta
What is it supposed to do? The blackest black LashBlast formula, now tinted with Luxe shimmers. The giant Luxe brush helps blast lashes to their biggest, boldest, and most beautifully shimmering.

Naked Eye
What does it ACTUALLY do? This mascara did give me bigger and bolder lashes with a hint of shimmer. It applied nicely with out clumping. I applied two coats. You can't see the shimmer very much on the top lashes but it is visible on the lower lashes.

Two coats of Lash Blast Luxe
Overall thoughts?  I like this mascara. It is probably one of the best I have tried in the last year. I like the big brush spoolie quite a bit. The formula is really nice as well, it doesn't clump and the hint of shimmer is a nice touch. This mascara also washed off very easily using my Neutrogena makeup remover/face wash. It also passed the makeup wipe remover test. I think at $6.99 it is a good buy. I may end up trying some of the other Lash Blast mascaras in the near future.

Maybelline Volum' Express "The Mega Plush"

I have yet to find a new mascara to love. I used to love using Loreal Double Extend Beauty Tubes Mascara
but I have grown tired of the double step application and the price tag for this mascara. I have been trying new drug store mascaras and was quite excited to try this Maybelline mascara. The gel mousse formula intrigued me. I had two coupons that I combined and ended up paying only a couple dollars for this mascara at Target.

What is it? Gel-Mousse mascara
How much is it? $5- $8 depending on where you shop
Where to buy it? Target, Wal-Mart,Drug Stores, Grocery Stores, Ulta etc.

Naked Eye

What is it supposed to do? gel mousse mascara that gives you full lashes without being flaky or brittle.
What does it ACTUALLY do? It applied nicely, it did give me nice coverage and made my lashes look longer but not really fuller. I applied two quick coats and there were no clumps or flakes.
Overall thoughts?  At first I really liked this mascara but over time I have grown to dislike it. It comes in waterproof and regular formulas. I have the regular formula but this mascara is still hard to remove. I use a face wash/ makeup remover in one and I have to use a lot and spend extra time on my eyes when I use this mascara. I have also noticed if I do more than 2 coats it starts getting clumpy on the ends of my lashes. Overall it is an okay mascara but not one I would buy again.

Eye with two coats of Maybelline Mega Plush

Have you tried this mascara? If so what did you think?

Maybelline Volum'E Express " The Turbo" Mascara

I really needed some new mascara but was not sure what to get. I have been using Stila Major Lash and truthfully it is too thick for my liking. I printed out a $2 off any Maybelline product at Target.com and headed to the makeup section. I browsed for quite some time. I have tried a lot of the Maybelline mascara's and have not liked them very much. I almost went for the old school pink and green tube when "The Turbo" caught my eye. The regular price for this mascara was around $6 so with my coupon I paid around $4. Bargain!!!!
The actual mascara is nice. Not too thick and it applied pretty good. I did a couple coats and it did get a bit clumpy at the end of my lashes. It washes off really easily which is a must have quality for me. Overall I like it, it was cheap and it does the job. It was considerably less than my Stila mascara and I like it way better.
What is your favorite mascara? I am still on the hunt for a good everyday mascara. My favorite of all time is Loreal Double Extend Beauty Tubes but I do not use it everyday because of the two step application. Maybe I should start. I have pretty much complicated every aspect of my makeup, why not add the lashes to the mix. All the primers, bases, powders, highlighters and concealers........OH MY!!!

Maybelline Colossal Mascara

I have been trying out different mascaras lately.
I have my favorite mascara , Loreal Double Extend Beauty Tubes
but using it everyday it a bit time consuming. It is a two coat application process and
then I do have to wash my face extra long to remove the "tubes".
So I am trying to find an awesome mascara for quick day to day looks!
I had a coupon for Maybelline mascara so I used it on the Colossal
Volume Express. I paid around $5.00 for this.
Brainiac me did not notice I bought waterproof.
I can't hang with waterproof mascara.
AT ALL.
It annoys the hell out of me and is so hard to remove.
I really like how this applied. It went on nice and smooth. No clumps.
But it was a BITCH to remove. I use Neutrogena face wash and makeup remover
all in one and it did not TOUCH this mascara. I had to go over my eyes
with a liquid remover. Pain in the butt!!
I think I am going to return this mascara and get the non waterproof version
because I really liked how it looks applied.

Before and After

If so what did you think?

Falsies Mascara by Maybelline - Junky Stuff

Maybelline Falsies Mascara has made the Junky List!!

I had a $1.00 off coupon for this mascara making the total cost around $5.00. I thought I had heard good things about this mascara so I was quite excited to try it out. Here is what the Maybelline website claims.
FALSE LASH GLAM GOES EXTRA MATTE, extremely black
300% MORE VISIBLE LASHES corner-to-corner, no gaps

The wand was nice, the formula looked very thick and goopy though. Come to find out after buying this, most of my friends who have tried it, HATED IT. I think I imagined hearing good things about it!!

Naked Eye

Falsies Mascara applied.

I did have some clumps and issues with eyelashes sticking together but those were not the big problem with this mascara. The problem is, it takes a damn sandblaster to remove it. I normally use mascara that washes off easily with Neutrogena Face Wash/ Makeup Remover all in one. I never use a separate remover to take my makeup off. I washed my eye area two times with the Neutrogena wash and I still had very sticky lashes and raccoon eyes. I had to go back in with a very oily makeup remover and saturate my lashes and really wipe hard to get it all off and even now, after sleeping and washing my face again this morning I can feel a sticky residue

So Falsies Mascara by Maybelline most DEFINITELY is on the Junky Stuff list!
Have you tried it? If so, what did you think??
