EnKore Brush Soap Review

I was super jazzed to see this product at PHAMExpo. I have heard about how awesome Koren Zanders new brush soap was by quite a few people so of course I HAD to pick one up. After using it once I really wish I picked a few up! I LOVE IT!! These soaps retail for $8 each but I paid less at PHAME. I forget how much. I should really write things down. I get in a frenzy at these shows and all rational goes out the window LOL.

The first thing I noticed when I walked up to the booth was the awesome silhouette of Koren on the soaps. HILAROUS!! The next thing I noticed was the insanely wonderful scents these brush soaps had. I was really hard pressed just to choose one scent. Right now there is 13 different scents available. I smelled most of them and they are all so delicious! I decided on Cantaloupe.
Each soap comes in a large plastic clamshell container and is approx. 2.5" in diameter and 1" tall. Each clamshell holds approx. 2.75 in product. The underneath of the soap has a loofah texture to deep clean brushes.
Here is the info from EnKore Makeup Online:
Deep Conditioning Brush Soaps are
rich in luxurious, deep moisturizing and conditioning oils including Argan Oil and Maracuja (Brazilian Passionfruit) Seed Oil.
Foaming, moisturizing, and formulated with 5 different conditioners, these brush soaps will render any makeup brush super clean, and super soft. Use on both Natural and Synthetic fibers.

My dirty brushes.
The yellow Bdellium brush stains so easily and I can never get it all the way clean.

The directions on the bottom of the clamshell say:Wet your dirty brush and simply lather on one side of the soap using a back-and-forth sweeping motion, then use the loofah side to deep-clean and loosen makeup residue. Rinse, reshape the bristles, and dry the brushes flat.

I may be dense but I was unsure if I was supposed to take the soap out of the clamshell to use it. I figured I did not want the clamshell all wet and goopy with soap so I simply set the brush soap in the bottom of my sink and followed the rest of the directions. Washing brushes is hard work. It really is. I was able to clean all 33 brushes in a matter of minutes. The smell was heavenly and the loofah side did an amazing job is getting the brushes that were stained clean. Afterwards my brushes smelled so good and were SO SOFT! I have been using baby soap, Dove soap or elf brush cleaner and none of those made my brushes conditioned obviously.

Ahhh, Clean brushes!

This pic shows the usage from washing 33 brushes. I am
sorta sad that the little silhouette is gone.

Here are those three dirty brushes I showed above. Look how clean they are!
I am shocked that the Bdellium brush came so clean!

I am extremely in love with this brush soap. My brushes are squeaky clean, smell amazing and feel so soft. The scent is amazing and the soap is very easy to use. I definitely will be buying more of this soap. After using it I was actually sad I did not pick up another one but lucky for me I just noticed that these brush soaps are available at the Morphe Brushes shop in Burbank which I will be visiting next month!! Woot!!

Have you tried Enkore's Brush Soap? If so what did you think of it?

MAC Mineralized Blushes in Pleasantry and Warmth of Coral

I know these blushes have been released ages ago and swatched all over the internet but they are new to me so I wanted to share =0) I got both of these in a trade from one of the makeup groups I am in. I did not think I would love Warmth of Coral but it is actually my favorite out of the two. It is also a unique blush color in my collection.

Warmth of Coral

I can't apply blush nicely or photograph it to save my life.
I apologize LOL

New Lime Crime Alchemy and Palette D'Antoinette ( well new to me anyway!)

Remember after IMATS I was kicking myself for not getting the other two Fantasy Palettes by Lime Crime? Well luckily for me Lime Crime was at the PHAMExpo and I was able to get them. I believe I paid $17 for each palette which is a nice discount!

Alchemy Palette
Palette D'Antoinette

I think the Alchemy palette is my favorite out of the 4 Fantasy palettes Lime Crime has made. The colors are very rich and vibrant and lean more on the warm side which is what I am into right now. The shadows in this palette are very buttery and smooth. Apply very opaque and blend nicely.

The Palette D'Antoinette is a mix of beautiful pastel shades. These are colors that can look quite hideous on me but look good when paired with darker colors.  These shadows are mostly matte which Mercurious being the more metallic. They are very opaque and easy to blend which can sometimes be an issue with matte shadows. This is probably my 3rd favorite out of the 4 palettes.

Overall I am extremely happy I was able to pick these palettes up. I really like Lime Crime shadows. The formula and texture are really nice and the colors are beautiful. I can't wait to see what new palettes Lime Crime comes up with in the future!

Do you have the Alchemy or Palette D'Antoinette? If so, what do you think of them? What is your favorite pressed shadow color by Lime Crime?

NuNAAT Brazilian Keratin

Please note that the products below were sent to me free of charge for promotional purposes

I had the opportunity to try out some NuNAAT products last month. I was able to choose which line of products I wanted to try and seeing that my hair is processed quite a bit and damaged I decided to try the Brazilian Keratin line. I received the shampoo, conditioner, hair mask and leave in treatment. I have been using this line exclusively for the last month. Check out my opinions below! Here is some info from the NuNAATwebsite:

NAAT Brazilian Keratin collection restores and intensifies your hair's nutritional balance, leaving it incredibly smooth, strong and flexible. Unlike typical animal-based keratins, our exclusive Green Keratin formula stays in your hair longer and is more resistant to rinsing. Promotes vibrancy and hydration, giving hair a natural, healthy shine.
  • Works with all hair types
  • Repairs cuticle damage
  • Regenerates and strengthens hair fibers
  • Restores natural shine and softness
  • Seals hair cuticles
  • Reduces volume and frizz
  • Makes hair resilient and healthy
  • Formaldehyde and sodium chloride free

  • The nuNAAT Brazilian Keratin line includes:
NAAT Brazilian Keratin Daily Care Shampoo-Formulated with mild surfactants, Green Keratin and amino acids, all of which provide deep cleansing without being abrasive. Designed for daily use. Sodium chloride free
NAAT Brazilian Keratin Daily Care Conditioner
Contains high-capacity conditioning ingredients so hair is easily untangled. Our exclusive formula contains Green Keratin and amino acids.Reduces frizz and tames unruly hair. Designed for daily use.
NAAT Brazilian Keratin Intensive Hair Mask
Apply after hair has been shampooed and rinsed in place of normal conditioner. The mask will intensely hydrate and repair hair fibers. Leave in for 10-20 minutes, then rinse well. To make hair even smoother, Deep Moisturizing Conditioner can be added to ends of hair after Intensive Hair Mask has been rinsed out. Use every one or two weeks, as necessary.
NAAT Brazilian Keratin Liquid Keratin Leave-In Reconstructor
A non-rinse formula. Once a desired amount is applied to hair, leave in for a few minutes before blow-drying as usual. A flat iron seals hair cuticles, causing the keratin to effectively penetrate hair fibers. Designed for frequent use, or as needed.
NAAT Brazilian Keratin Serum Ultra Shine ( I did not receive this product or test it)
Our special silicone formula creates a film that protects hair against environmental  damage, keeping it moisturized and providing extra conditioning, more shine and increased flexibility. This styling product can be used on wet or dry hair. Apply a small amount and distribute evenly. Use as often as desired.

After using this line for a month I can say I really like it. At the beginning I was on the fence. I had pretty long hair, half way down my back that had been bleached numerous times and not trimmed for over a year. Using this line on THAT hair I did not see a huge difference. But then I got about 8 inches cut off and now am noticing a huge difference in my hair. The hair I have left is shoulder length and has also been bleached multiple times so it definitely needed some help. Using the nuNAAT shampoo and conditioners have been a transition for me. I am used to drug store brands that sud up to a huge pile of bubbles and conditioners that make your hair feel super smooth when rinsing. With store brand conditioner I have found my hair to be tacky and weighed down sometimes which requires the use of a clarifying shampoo from time to time. The nuNAAT Brazilian Keratin line is way different. The shampoo has only minimal suds but cleans very efficiently. Suds are not an indicator of how well shampoo works. The conditioner left my hair feeling stronger if that makes any sense. It did not feel like I just conditioned it at all. That turned me off a bit because I am used to the feeling of really soft, easy to brush hair. The leave in treatment also made my hair feel stronger. After a month of using this I can say that my hair definitely is smoother and stronger. I wish I could articulate into words how my hair feels after using this. Strong is the only word that comes to mind. nuNAAT is available at a variety of retailers, including Walgreens, Walmart and Sally Beauty Supplies. The nuNAAT Brazilian Keratin line is extremely affordable, comparable in price to Pantene. I wash my hair 2 times a week and still have around half of the shampoo and conditioner, the hair mask is 3/4 full and the leave in treatment is almost full still. Overall I am very pleased with this line. My hair looks great and it is a very affordable brand. I will continue to use this line and I plan on exploring some of the other lines nuNAAT offers.
