Colourpop

I had been seeing Colourpop all over my Instagram feed for MONTHS . I was intrigued but never placed an order because I was in a makeup buying rut. Going to Phamexpo a few months ago got me excited about makeup again so I decided to place a Colourpop order. First off I was SO impressed with their prices, Most items are $5! What also impressed me was that free shipping was offered on orders $30 or more. Most websites are at least $50 or more. Then to top that all off they offered a $5 off coupon code for new customers! I was sold! I have been all about lipstick lately so I decided to get Lippie Stix. That was the easy part. Colourpop has SO MANY color and finishes to choose from. It took me a few days to google swatches and pictures but I finally narrowed it down to 6 Lippie Stix. My order shipped pretty quick. Colourpop is based in California so shipping was only a couple days after my order was processed. It was about a week total wait time. When I got my order I noticed that I was sent Fighter in a lip liner instead of a Lippie Stix. I emailed Colourpop because from my order form I could not tell if I mistakenly ordered it in a pencil or if they made the mistake. I got a response within an hour with a free code to order a Fighter Lippie Stix. They let me keep the lip liner and I received the right product within a week! Great customer service. I was highly impressed!

Colourpop Lippie Stix are a slim tube lipstick, they contain 1 oz. of product and each has a matching lip liner available. The wording on the website had me a bit confused, at first I thought that a lip liner
came free with each Lippie Stix but that was not the case. There are over 95 different Lippie Stix to choose from on their website!
I chose Heart On ( cool toned magenta in matte finish), Brunch (mid tone coral in satin finish), Wifey (bright lavender pink in satin finish), Tootsi (grey beige in matte finish), Charm (minty green in satin finish) and Leather ( blackened violet in matte finish)
I am freaking in LOVE with the texture and finish of all of these Lippie Stix. I prefer them over any other brand of lipstick that I own. They are fabulous! Out of these 6 my absolute favorite is Tootsi. It has become my everyday lipstick. It is such a pretty nude type color. It reminds me of Melt Laced but Laced it darker. Brunch was not really a shade that is flattering to my skin tone but I had to get it because of the name. Charmed was also a color that is not really suited for me but I wanted to get it so I could see how opaque and pigmented the more "wild" shades were. Leather is my 2nd favorite out of the bunch. It is a great dark vampy color.

Overall I LOVE LOVE LOVE these Lippie Stix. I cant wait to order more! I want to try other Colourpop products too. Especially the eye shadows and highlighters. Colourpop seems to be a great company with affordable products, a huge range of products and great customer service. I am extremely pleased with my experience and cant wait to order more!

What are your favorite Colourpop products? Any recommendations?

Too Faced "Melted" Liquid Lipstick

I recently lightened my hair from dark green to light green and the transition has been tough for me. Figuring out new eye brow color and what eye and lip colors play well with this new hair has been difficult. I felt like a lighter eye and bold lip may pair well so I went to Ulta to pick up some new shades. First off, my Ulta is always out of stock of whatever it is I am shopping for. Ugh. I wanted to get some NYX lip products but of course they did not have any of the colors I wanted. I ended up being intrigued by the Too Faced display and decided to try the new Melted liquid lipstick in Melted Candy. Below are my thoughts and opinions on this product!

What is it? Long wearing liquid lipstick.

 How much is it? $21

Where to buy it? Ulta, Sephora or Too Faced

What is it supposed to do?  Description from the Too Faced website says:
Get the staying power of a stain, the intense color of a liquid lipstick and the high shine of a gloss in one long-wear formula. Using exclusive technology to keep cauldrons of molten lipsticks liquid and creamy, Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick comfortably coats lips in bursts of intense, high-impact, super rich, saturated color that lasts for hours.

What does it ACTUALLY do? It lived up to the claims of intense color and high shine for sure. The long wear formula was a bit of a stretch in my case. I found that it did last longer than normal lipstick or gloss but not as long as long wearing liquid to matte lipsticks that I have tried. It was super creamy, it had a great texture, smell and application was really easy. One thing I did notice was that a lip liner is a must with this product. It started to feather out of my lip lines quite quickly and looked messy after an hour or so.

Overall thoughts? I like the texture and color of this lipstick quite a bit. However, I did not like how much it feathered off my lips and the fact that it stayed quite wet was an issue for me because I have a 9 month old who loves to grab my face and give kisses. Overall it is a really nice product but not for me right now. I will save it for a few months and hopefully be able to wear it because the color is gorgeous!

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Naked 2

I have seen so many people raving about the new Revolution Lipsticks by Urban Decay lately that I decided to pick one up myself and see what all the hype was about. I picked a super exciting shade..... wait for it.....wait for it..............NUDE!!! Yes, I got Naked 2. I bought it at Ulta and paid $22 which is a bit much for a lipstick and as my husband would say, especially for a lipstick you can't even see lol.
Here is some info from the Urban Decay website about these new lipsticks,
Get the color you crave. Addictive to apply (and even more addictive to wear), this creamy formula glides on without dragging or skipping, hugs every curve and gives you a BIG laydown of color. And with shades that range from gorgeous nudes to bold brights, there’s something for everyone.

Our Pigment Infusion System™ gives Revolution Lipstick its super creamy texture, insane pigmentation, superior color dispersion and extended wear. Maxi-Lip™ defines and hydrates lips while making them look plumper and fuller. And a nourishing blend of jojoba oil, avocado oil, cocoa butter and shea butter keeps lips super moisturized and cushiony soft.

Our luxe, custom-designed gunmetal tube (lined in dark purple) features organically shaped facets that practically beg to be touched. You’ll want to keep pulling it out of your bag—whether it’s time to reapply or not.

This lipstick lived up to it's claims and then some. It applied super smooth and creamy and was very opaque with one coat. The formula made my lips feel moisturized while wearing it. I also found the shade Naked 2 to be a great nude color for my skin tone.

The only negative aspect to this lipstick is the price. It is a bit expensive but I do feel like the quality  makes it worth the price tag. I really like this lipstick and it already has become an everyday favorite. I feel like most of the other shades are out of my comfort zone, you know not nude, so this will probably be my only Revolution lipstick purchase but I am totally happy I picked this up!

Have you tried Urban Decay Revolution Lipsticks? If so, what is your favorite shade?

MAC RazzleDazzler

Another old limited edition "new to me" lipstick from MAC! I got this in a trade from one of my good friends. I wanted this when it originally came out with the All About Orange collection from MAC. Orange is not really my color so a lot of the things in this collection were pretty "meh" to me but RazzleDazzler looked like a nice peachy neutral to me. So when my friend offered to me in a trade I was super jazzed!!
It is called a pinky coral but on my lips it comes across more of a frosty peach. The finish is a lustre which is not my fave from MAC but overall I really like this color and lipstick so far.

Pretty In Ink

I came across Pretty In Ink moons ago and added it to my elfster wishlist and to my surprise my awesome friend Lisa bought me a lipstick necklace! I am in LOVE with this necklace. I love anything that has the old school tattoo look so I basically want everything that Pretty In Ink has in stock in her etsy! This necklace is VERY well made. I will for sure be ordering from Pretty In Ink myself in the very near future. Pretty In Ink has almost 3,000 sales on etsy with a 100% feedback rating! That is bad ass!!

From the product listing- The lipstick and bow is created from hard cut plastic, a durable and surprisingly lightweight material. It is sealed with clear coat to protect the design and has a lovely gloss finish.

The owner of the shop has a special section of pieces that if you purchase part of the profit goes to a dog rescue. How sweet is that!
"10% of the profits from this piece will be donated to a very deserving pit bull rescue. Pit bulls are wonderful dogs and now more than ever need our help. See our home page for information on this month's pit bull rescue."
Here are some of my favorite items from the Pretty In Ink shop!

Have you heard of Pretty In Ink? What pieces are your fave?

Lime Crime Lipstick Babette!

Lime Crime makeup did an early release of Babette at the PHAMExpo. If you have been reading here for awhile you know I LOVE nude lips. I have Coquette which can be a bit light and harsh on me but I usually just apply it lightly and blend the edges to soften. When I first seen the promo pictures of Babette I figured it would also be too light for me but to my surprise it looks really nice. I have worn it a few times and really like it.

I really like the texture, "taste" and scent of Lime Crime lipsticks. Because I am afraid of color on my lips I only own the two nude shades but if I ever want to get colorful I would for sure shop Lime Crime and get some of the bolder colors.

Babette will be available for purchase on the Lime Crime website July 15th!
