Lorac Megapro 2

When the rumors and sneak peak pictures started floating around the internet about the possibility of a Lorac Mega Pro 2 I started freaking out. Over the last year my love of neutrals has grown immensely. So has my love for Lorac Pro eye shadow palettes. They are freaking AMAZING. I love the colors, formulas, textures and how easy they are to work with. I was not that into neutrals or Lorac when the original Mega Pro palette came out so I missed that one. Months later after acquiring both the Pro Palettes I started REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY getting sad that I missed on the Mega Pro. Lucky for me I have quite a few makeup addict friends and one of them was super kind and sold me her brand new one for less than retail price! I was so jazzed. Between the pro palettes, summer palettes and the Unzipped palettes I have been in neutral Heaven!
The Mega Pro 2 is an Ulta exclusive. I had heard horror stories about the original Mega Pro and it's release as a Sephora exclusive. Apparently they did not make or stock enough and it sold out within minutes. People were going nuts. Ulta was scheduled to have the Mega Pro 2 stock on October 4th. I called the Ulta customer service line on the 3rd to ask what time and what time zone would the palette be stocking. I was informed it would be available at midnight central time zone which was 10pm on the 3rd for me in California. I was sitting at my computer ready to click and check out. I was able to purchase it easily, checked out quickly and was quite pleased with my ninja buying skills. I guess I did not have to be such an eager beaver because here we are on the 12th and the Mega Pro 2 is still in stock online at Ulta! I am happy because hopefully everyone who wanted this palette will have a chance to get it!
I got my palette 6 days later and am freaking overjoyed at the beauty of this palette. I am pretty sure it is my favorite out of all the Lorac palettes and is my second favorite palette of all time ( Sugarpill Burning Heart palette will forever be my favorite) I have done quite a few looks so far which I will be posting soon. I also plan on swatching the whole palette and doing some comparison swatches for colors that appear similar from all the other Lorac Pro Palettes.

New Lime Crime Alchemy and Palette D'Antoinette ( well new to me anyway!)

Remember after IMATS I was kicking myself for not getting the other two Fantasy Palettes by Lime Crime? Well luckily for me Lime Crime was at the PHAMExpo and I was able to get them. I believe I paid $17 for each palette which is a nice discount!

Alchemy Palette
Palette D'Antoinette

I think the Alchemy palette is my favorite out of the 4 Fantasy palettes Lime Crime has made. The colors are very rich and vibrant and lean more on the warm side which is what I am into right now. The shadows in this palette are very buttery and smooth. Apply very opaque and blend nicely.

The Palette D'Antoinette is a mix of beautiful pastel shades. These are colors that can look quite hideous on me but look good when paired with darker colors.  These shadows are mostly matte which Mercurious being the more metallic. They are very opaque and easy to blend which can sometimes be an issue with matte shadows. This is probably my 3rd favorite out of the 4 palettes.

Overall I am extremely happy I was able to pick these palettes up. I really like Lime Crime shadows. The formula and texture are really nice and the colors are beautiful. I can't wait to see what new palettes Lime Crime comes up with in the future!

Do you have the Alchemy or Palette D'Antoinette? If so, what do you think of them? What is your favorite pressed shadow color by Lime Crime?

Morphe Brushes Review and FOTD

Please note that the items below were obtained free of charge for blogging purposes.

As you all know from my PHAMExpo blog post, I had the pleasure of visiting the Morphe Brushes booth recently. Before PHAME I received a promotional email from Morphe saying I should stop by their booth and build a 4 pan eye shadow palette for free. I had forgotten all about that email during PHAME and only stopped by the booth because of the HUGE selection of brushes they had on display. I was in brush heaven!! I could have spent a small fortune on new brushes but sadly I had spent almost all of my fun money earlier in the day so I only picked out a few. I decided on a few more odds and ends and then at the checkout I handed my blogger media/press sheet to the guy working the booth who then brought over Linda who was a complete doll! She told me I could have my whole basket for free and also let me pick the 4 pan eye shadow palette.

You can check out Morphe makeup paletttes here and individual shadows here.
The individual shadows are only $2 each. Super bargain!

I decided to build a neutral palette. I know that is odd since I am normally so colorful but I am finding there are certain neutrals I am missing in my collection. I actually only have two neutral palettes, one is primarily matte and the other is shimmer. Anyhow I wanted to get some darker, smoky purple and red based neutrals.

Intense Reddish Brown
This color over a base is such a different color than without!

 Burgundy with Red Shimmer

Muted Blackish Brown

I can't find this one on their site, their 45 is purple, this could be 20

I have to say I am floored by the quality of these shadows. I have an 88 palette and a neutral palette by other private label companies and the quality is quite blah so I thought these may not be that great but I was wrong. They have really nice pigmentation, they blend easily and the texture is really smooth. I really like these colors I picked, they are very warm and rich. The magnetic palette is $4.99 for a 4 pan and available here. I plan on building a big neutral palette for my MUA kit soon.

I used the entire palette for the look below

                       Metal Eyelash Definer - $3.89
I got this for my MUA kit because it is metal it can be sanitized easily.

I am a sucker for any type of crease brush. I love them. This brush is badger and is really great.
It is a very cheap alternative to my favorite MAC #222 and Hakuhodo crease brush.
I used it in the look above in the crease and to blend.

I also got this brush for my MUA kit.

In addition to my addiction to buying crease brushes I also have an addiction to brush cleaning supplies. I love trying new things. This cleaner caught my eye because of the disinfection properties. All of the brush cleansers I have do not contain anything that will disinfect my brushes so I normally spray them down with alcohol after washing. I used this spray as a disinfectant after washing.

Lastly I got this rad leopard brush apron. I have been doing a lot more MUA work and thought this would be nice to use instead of the brush roll I have been using. It can hold a TON of brushes and tools and is made of plastic so it can be wiped down and sanitized easily. I cant find this style on the Morphe site but they have a wide variety of  brush aprons and holder to choose from. Check it out here.

My overall opinion of Morphe Brushes and their products is a good one. I really love their eye shadows and their brushes are great and CHEAP! I plan on shopping again with Morphe Brushes very soon. I want to try a ton of other brushes and other items. You can shop online with Morphe Brushes or you can visit their retail shop at 616 Victory Blvd. in Burbank, CA. I am fairly local so I hope to check out their retail shop soon!

Thanks so much to Linda from Morphe Brushes for the goodies! Also check back VERY soon because Linda and I are collaborating on a giveaway for you all! You won't want to miss it!

Lime Crime China Doll Palette

I picked up the China Doll  palette by Lime Crime at IMATS for only $20! So cheap! I also got Aquataenia but that is for another day. I am literally beating myself up for not getting the other two Lime Crime palettes at IMATS. The discount was so good. *Sobs* Okay I am done being miserable!

This is my first experience with Lime Crime eye shadows  You may recall my makeup sensei Lisa guest posted swatches and a review of these palettes last year. I have wanted to try these palettes FOREVER but never seemed to order one when I had funds. My first thoughts are the packaging is adorable and super sturdy. The palette itself is set inside a plastic insert and then is attached inside of an adorable tin. The plastic seems a tiny bit cheesy but the tin makes up for it.
These shadows were WAY better than I expected they would be. People seem to like them but I have not heard to many people go crazy for them. I am not sure why because they are pretty awesome. They all have a smooth texture and are super opaque even without a base as you can see. I really like the tone of red that Fly, Dragon Fly is and Goldfish is a totally unique color in my stash. It has the softest texture. It is a really cool mix of mustard yellow and gold. LOVE IT. Obviously I also love Jade-O-lade very much as well. It is a really nice shade of jade, lol. It is also a more unique shade in my stash. Parasol is also a very soft textured shadow and VERY opaque. This palette is full of win in my opinion.
My overall thoughts of Lime Crime shadows are very positive. I loved the texture, opaqueness and how they blended together in a look. At $20 I feel like I got a steal. They are regularly $34.99 which is much higher than I paid but still a fair amount in my opinion. I do plan on ordering the other two palettes eventually. Right now I can't spend too much since I blew the wad at IMATS

Have you tried the China Doll palette from Lime Crime? If so what did you think?

Bold and Beautfiul Palette by Anastasia Beverly Hills

I received the Bold and Beautiful Kit for review from Anastasia Beverly Hills earlier this month. This kit comes with an eyeshadow palette and a brow palette. This review is for the eyeshadow palette only. The brow palette is for "normal" colored brows which I do not have right now. I am going to include the brow palette in an upcoming giveaway so be on the lookout!!

The price for this kit is $36 which in my opinion is a fair price considering you get an eyeshadow palette, brush, brow palette, mini tweezers and brow brush. The quality of the palette is very nice and the packaging is really sturdy.

Information from the product listing: Four matte and shimmering shadows in versatile neutrals are the perfect shades to finish any look. Layer them wet and dry to create anything from a subtle, sheer wash of color to an intense, nude smoky eye.

Swatched over NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk. Photo taken in natural light

I really like the texture of these shadows. The mattes are smooth and not chalky at all. My favorite out of the bunch is the 2nd color. It has a really pretty shimmer to it. Usually these type of colors bring out all the wrinkles and texture lines on my lid but this one looked quite nice. The last color with all the glitter is really pretty but as with most glittery colors you can't really blend it without losing all the glitter. Below I used the 2nd and 4th color.

Overall I really liked this palette. I would definitely recommend it to someone wanting a small neutral toned palette. After trying this palette, the liners and the Hypercolors I am really intrigued by Anastasia Beverly Hills and look forward to trying more of their products.

Have you tried anything from Anastasia Beverly Hills? If so, what did you think? Any recommendations?
