On a budget??

Then I have some news you will like!
Recently when I was doing my dupe I noticed
that Coastal Scents hottest pink reminded me of Dollipop by
Sugarpill. I decided to swatch and was shocked at how
close some of the colors were!!
All these pictures are UNEDITED and taken in the same lighting.
First of all let me say I LOVE SUGARPILL and
this is not an attempt to slam Coastal Scents or Sugarpill for having similar colors.
I do find that Sugarpill has better quality shadows
and go on bolder and smoother using less than Coastal Scents.
After I swatched I asked my husband which was Sugarpill
and which was Coastal Scents and he was able to pick Sugarpill every time.
He said the colors appeared smoother to him.

When I first applied without a base I thought that I was wrong
and the pinks did not match up at all because
Dollipop went on very smooth and pigmented
and G7 was very light and did not cover well.

Midori also went on very smooth and pigmented without a base but
D7 was smoother and more pigmented than the G7 pink was.

Afterparty and E8 were similar and
did not go on very smooth or pigmented at all without a base.

Tako was BY FAR superior to Coastal Scents.
I would not even call these colors close AT ALL.

So there ya have it, if you are on a budget and want some bold colors similar to
Sugarpill I think the Coastal Scents 88 palette is a good deal.
Some have said that the Coastal Scents colors do not last as long as Sugarpill
on your face but I have not noticed that.
I wore Coastal Scents for 12 hours over Urban Decay Primer Potion
and NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk with no fading or creasing.

A Coastal Scents 88 Palette will cost you $18.95 + shipping.
Each color is approx. dime size.

A Suagrpill palette will cost you $34.00+ shipping .
Each color is approx half dollar size.

I personally will be buying any new pressed colors Sugarpill comes out with but I am
also going to try out more Coastal Scent palettes soon!

  1. I don't have Dollipop but that hot pink is probably my fave shade in the whole palette! I like it because it's kind of a reddish-toned hot pink, rather than a cooler, purple-toned hot pink. I always thought Dollipop would be cooler, but I can't believe how similar they look! Now I know I need Dollipop so I can have my favorite color to last me forever! xD

    Thanks for the comparisons <3
