BH Cosmetics 28 Neutral Color Palette

Last month I placed a BH Cosmetics order for a few palettes to use in a makeup artistry kit. I have been doing makeup for friends and family a lot lately so I decided that I needed to make a professional style kit. You know that I normally NEVER wear a neutral eye and that most people prefer neutral looks so a neutral palette was a must have for the kit. I also purchased  a blush palette, a lip palette and a concealer palette ( more on those later) . I want to say I paid roughly $10 for this palette so it was REALLY cheap. This was my first time ordering from BH Cosmetics, my order was shipped very quickly and was packaged well.

I have used this a couple times and the first time I was underwhelmed to say the least. I actually thought about tossing it. It was that bad. The shadows are not very pigmented unless they are used over a base. The black is also not very black which is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. The second time I used different shades and had a better outcome. I guess with this palette some shades are good and some are not. The pale shades are all almost translucent and pretty hard to work with and a few of the mattes are quite chalky. I did really like the top right corner color . I am going to keep playing with this palette and see what happens

I was pretty excited about this palette and overall feel let down. At $10 it is very cheap so I supposed it is sorta of expected for the price. Like I said, I am gonna keep playing with it. I have 88 palettes from Coastal Scents that I love so I sorta wish I would have ordered a neutral palette from them instead. I have heard that BH and Coastal Scents sell the same products with their own labels so I suppose it would not have made a difference. I am very pleased with the lip and face palettes that I got from BH though. Have you tried this palette? If so what did you think? What about BH Cosmetics in general?

Thanks for reading,

  1. I feel the same way about this palette. The black is sad and the dark browns are not dark/string enough to carry a smoky look on their own. The colors are chalky and many of the mid-browns are gray or pink-based. There's just not enough variety. I really like the blush and lipgloss palettes, though.
