October Birchbox is here!

My October Birchbox arrived yesterday!!
If you are wondering what a Birchbox is you can check out my post from last
month here or you can check out the Birchbox website .

 Wonderful packaging as usual!
I really liked this box. More than last month I think.
I definitely feel like I got my $10 worth!

Tea Forte Fitness Mints
These mints that have both wellness and breath-sweetening properties. All-natural and sugar-free, Minteas are infused with organic green tea, herbs, and fruit extracts to give you an instant antioxidant boost. Better yet, they freshen breath and taste delicious. These pick-me-up treats are laced with healthy ingredients that keep you balanced. The flavors are designed not only to taste good but also to accomplish specific wellness goals. Resist boosts immunity with lemon and lime extracts, while Results, a spicy matcha chai and cinnamon blend, spurs metabolism.
Price for 3 tins is $9.95.
I would NOT purchase these for that price.
My thoughts on these are mixed. I tried them and they tasted good so
I am pleased in that sense but one of my friends who has
battled an eating disorder in the past was not too pleased
to see these. So truthfully I am not sure these have a place in a
"Beauty" themed sample box. You do not have to be skinny to be
beautiful but everyone should strive to be healthy and fit.
Your thoughts???

Redken Shine Flash 02 Glistening Mist
Redken’s signature Shine-On Complex has antioxidant-rich camelina oil and vitamin B5 to condition strands. It smoothes the surface of hair to give you a mirror-like finish.
 Price  for 4.4oz is $17
I was most excited about this spray. I have not had a chance to try it out but I
just washed my hair and will straighten it later and try the spray afterwards.
One of my friends mentioned it did not smell that great . I sprayed a bit and she is
right. It does not have a great smell. It would have to work AWESOME
for me to spend $17 on a stinky spray. I will update how I liked this later today.

Be Fine BeLips Lip Exfoliator
Befine’s ultra gentle scrub uses pineapple enzymes to dissolve dead skin and finely ground almond meal to softly buff lips. The matching lip serum has plant-based amino acids and peptides to boost collagen and firm skin, plus soothing chamomile oil and moisturizing safflower seed oil.
Price for 15 ml Lip Exfoliator and 15ml Lip Serum is $25.00
I would NOT purchase this product for that price. There is a
bunch of quick easy natural things you can use at home
to exfoliate your lips.
I used this yesterday. My lips were pretty dry feeling with a couple rough
patches. After using this my lips felt more smooth. I like it but it is too pricey for me.

Pangea Organics Facial Scrub
Made from natural ingredients, this nourishing scrub has both chemical and physical exfoliators for an effective one-two punch. First, Cranberry Seed enzymes dissolve dead cells, and then finely ground Adzuki Bean gently whisk them away to uncover fresh, healthy skin. Geranium Oil helps to tone, while Vitamin C brightens, and Almond Oil restores moisture.
Price for 3.8 fl tube is $32
I would NOT buy this product for this price either.
I am starting to feel like Miss. Cheapwad for how many times I say
I would not buy this product but it is true. I am an average
Mom to many and my money is tight. If a product is amazing
I may consider it. The Birchbox is great because I get to try
higher end products that I normally could not afford to try.

Okay, Back to the Pangea Scrub. This was another item I was
excited about. I love scrubs!! I also used this yesterday and really liked it.
It smelled good and was a nice gentle exfoliator. My skin felt similar to
how it feels after doing a mini peel using fruit acids.

blinc Mascara
This mascara doesn’t just paint your lashes to make them darker and longer — it uses a copolymer-based formula to create little tubes around each one of your lashes. And since it’s not a paint, the mascara won’t flake, run, or smudge. When you’re ready to remove it, each individual tube slides off in one piece — no more black smears under your lashline!
Price is $24 for a 0.21 oz tube.
Once again, I would NOT buy this product for that price.
I really like this "style" of mascara, You know my go to mascara
is a tube style but I have been a bit sick of removing it at night. I was quite excited
to try this. Sadly I really did not care for it. It applied very lightly and I had
to do 3-4 coats of this. With my mascara ( Loreal Double Extend Beauty Tubes)
I only have to do 1 coat.
This mascara was by far easier to remove then my Loreal.
It looks nice applied but still I am not a huge fan.

So that was my October Birchbox. What did you think?

  1. I'm so envious of the Redken Glistening Mist. It's one of my favorite hair products all time, but the price it's sold in Finland is hideous, so I only get it as a special treat every now and then. I would agree it stinks, but it quickly fades and this mist really does wonders for my hair :) If you don't like it, you can sell it to me, LOL :P

And now I admit it.. I envy you US people. No Birchbox or anything similar in Finland, boo :P

  5. To Moi - while we don't get the popular Birchbox, there is Glymm Box that's Canada only.

The pangea scrub does look great, but I'd have to agree, it's a lil' too $$$ for my budget.

  7. I love Birchboxes! Whenever I see americans posting about them I get so jealous, I'm subscribed to Glossy Box but honestly they never seem as good as the Birchboxes :( xxxx

  8. the mints: I think they were the "extra" for it and not really much to do with beauty but being healthy is beautiful and healthy doesn't = thin, if that makes sense? I got the mints but mine were "relax" and I love them. I don't know if I'd spend 10 bucks on them.

I seriously did not like the mascara. I use organicwear and with one application my lashes look awesome and it's not hard on the eyes like this one was. I dunno....

    I love your blog :D
