Lime Crime Carousel Gloss - Guest post by Roxy

Lime Crime had a Cyber Monday sale I totally jumped onto it. Lipsticks were only $12 versus their usual $16 which is always an awesome deal, as Lime Crime has amazing lipsticks. They recently released a line of lip glosses as well, called Carousel Gloss either right before the Thanksgiving holiday, or after. I cannot quite remember.

According to LC's website, "Carousel Gloss boasts semi-opaque coverage combined with bursts of nebulesque sparkle that comes alive in indoor lighting.
Cruelty-free/vegan formula glides on smoothly on bare lips or over your favorite lipstick. Each gloss arrives in a sumptuous purple foil box resembling an antique merry-go-round — the ultimate gift (or indulgence) for those seeking a little luxury in their makeup bag. But hurry: this collection melts away with winter's last snow..."

I mean seriously, That SOUNDS tempting & quite obviously limited edition. However, for $17 these BETTER be amazing, that's how my mind works. They were not included in the Cyber Monday sales because they are new! It is a self-indulgence for that price. I guess you're mainly paying for the super cute packaging, which I don't mind. The glosses are beautifully designed. The clear tube is reminiscent of the twisted carousel pole you hold onto while riding a merry-go-round horse. The purple cap is emblazoned with the name "Carousel Gloss" and the top of the cap has an etched unicorn. (I can never get enough of the Lime Crime's unicorn!) All over, a definite treat on the eyes.

I ordered only 1 .. My budget would only allow, plus lack of review I had to keep my skepticism up in disregard of my excitement. The color I am reviewing today is Golden Ticket. I was completely sold on the gold, being East/West Indian I have a caramel skin tone that would bode well with jewel tones and glittery golds. Besides, it's the only one other than glittery, luscious Candy Apple, and deep blue Loop-De-Loop, that seemed most unique to me.

It took a while to actually get my package. I waited patiently (not in my head though!), because I know there have been some issues with USPS, plus I imagine Lime Crime to be swamped with Black Friday/Cyber Monday orders. It was worth the wait, the applicator is a little brush, NOT a doe foot applicator which is ALWAYS a good thing. I don't mind doe foot applicators but it's a personal preference that I believe not enough product is on the doe foot applicators and the coverage isn't as nice. Since it's a brush, it can be applied more precisely, with less smearing.. if any of that makes sense. Upon first opening, it smells of delicious vanilla frosting. I do not mind vanilla frosting. It's better than smelling like nothing but I must point out, it IS indeed scented. There is no taste, whatsoever. It, at first, seems to have a very sticky consistency. It is not sticky at all, it glides on like butter and feels light on the lips. It could be the lighting in my place, but it's not as yellow gold as the photo on Lime Crime's website. It's definitely more bronze than that, it's very pretty and quite opaque. I wore it on bare lips for 3 hours and it lasted pretty well.

All in all, I'm quite satisfied with the Carousel Gloss. I plan on ordering more and I don't think I'm going to sit and wait for a sale on them. It seems like they won't budge on the price.I cannot wait to try the others! Since Golden Ticket doesn't exactly have much of a predecessor, it's truly unique for the holiday season!

Thank you so much for the in depth review of Lime Crime's new gloss Roxy!
