Moi Minerals Haul, Swatches, Tutorial and Giveaway!

             This post is going to be long and picture heavy!  As you know I am a "model" for Moi Minerals. I have gotten a few packages lately and I wanted to share the glittery goodness with you all! Stay tuned at the end of the post for a giveaway.

           New to Moi Minerals are ......

        These are not your average Mineral Eye Shadows, They are actually created completely different , one method is a heat treat method, each shadow can take anywhere from 8-48 hours to create from start to finish,the whole process is very time consuming.The out come of these is so worth the time involved, some shades are actually a multi~tone(1-meaning the out side appearance is one shade but when applied its actually a completely different color,2-some may have a duo-chrome type effect) They can be applied as is,with primer,damp brush, this is for you to decide what works for you and the finish you are trying to achieve. High Beam shadows come in two varieties.

                   These  shadows are NEAT!! They swatched so smooth and pigmented. I was very impressed but also wondered how they would do on the eye. The really glittery ones were a bit hard to pick up with the brush but I managed to get the hang of it pretty quick. These shadows remind me of MAC crushed metallic pigments in texture.

        I got four blush samples and I quickly potted them into my own jars. I am in LOVE with Rosewood!! All of the blushes have nice formulas. They go on pretty sheer but are buildable to a more intense color and they blend easily into the skin without being chalky.

         Here is a full face look I did using Moi Minerals. My eyes are Fortune Cookie, Geranium, Havannah, and Red River. My cheeks are Rosewood blush and my lips are Love Song (which will be available early March)

           Moi Minerals also launched a FABULOUS Halloween collection this year and I am told it will be available year round!!

            Snap is the most fabulous color!! I want to wear it everyday!! These colors are the standard formula pigments and have all of the qualities of a great pigment. Opaqueness and blended easily, not too much fall out and a very smooth formula.

Pricing for standard mineral pigments are 

$1.75 for 1/8 tsp sample

           For this look I used Snap, Pink Stilletos and Pluto.

Get The Look

            For this look you will need

Eye Primer ( I used elf eye primer)

White Base ( I used NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk)

Bright Green Pigment or Shadow ( I used Snap by Moi Minerals)

Smoky Purple Pigment or Shadow ( I used Pluto by Moi Minerals)

Bright Pink Pigment or Shadow ( I used Pink Stilletos by Moi Minerals)

Eye Shadow Brush, Eyeliner Brush and Blending Brush

Mascara and Eyeliner (optional)

1. Apply your primer and base in the shape you want your finished look to be. Blend out the top and side edges of your base using your finer.
2. Apply Snap to your eyelid up to your crease with your eyeshadow brush.
3. Apply Pluto into your crease and pull it up slightly using your eyeshadow brush.
4. Grab your Blending brush and reapply snap gently blending into your crease.
5. Using the same brush grab Pluto and reapply it gently blending down into Snap.
6. Using the same brush get a small amount of Pink Stilletos and using it, blend out the top and outside edge of Pluto until you have a slightly pinkish blended edge,
7. Using your liner brush apply Snap from the inner to the middle of your lower lid.
8. Using the same brush apply Pluto from the outer of the lower lid into Snap and blend the two together where they meet.
9. You are done! Apply mascara and liner!
