Colourpop

I had been seeing Colourpop all over my Instagram feed for MONTHS . I was intrigued but never placed an order because I was in a makeup buying rut. Going to Phamexpo a few months ago got me excited about makeup again so I decided to place a Colourpop order. First off I was SO impressed with their prices, Most items are $5! What also impressed me was that free shipping was offered on orders $30 or more. Most websites are at least $50 or more. Then to top that all off they offered a $5 off coupon code for new customers! I was sold! I have been all about lipstick lately so I decided to get Lippie Stix. That was the easy part. Colourpop has SO MANY color and finishes to choose from. It took me a few days to google swatches and pictures but I finally narrowed it down to 6 Lippie Stix. My order shipped pretty quick. Colourpop is based in California so shipping was only a couple days after my order was processed. It was about a week total wait time. When I got my order I noticed that I was sent Fighter in a lip liner instead of a Lippie Stix. I emailed Colourpop because from my order form I could not tell if I mistakenly ordered it in a pencil or if they made the mistake. I got a response within an hour with a free code to order a Fighter Lippie Stix. They let me keep the lip liner and I received the right product within a week! Great customer service. I was highly impressed!

Colourpop Lippie Stix are a slim tube lipstick, they contain 1 oz. of product and each has a matching lip liner available. The wording on the website had me a bit confused, at first I thought that a lip liner
came free with each Lippie Stix but that was not the case. There are over 95 different Lippie Stix to choose from on their website!
I chose Heart On ( cool toned magenta in matte finish), Brunch (mid tone coral in satin finish), Wifey (bright lavender pink in satin finish), Tootsi (grey beige in matte finish), Charm (minty green in satin finish) and Leather ( blackened violet in matte finish)
I am freaking in LOVE with the texture and finish of all of these Lippie Stix. I prefer them over any other brand of lipstick that I own. They are fabulous! Out of these 6 my absolute favorite is Tootsi. It has become my everyday lipstick. It is such a pretty nude type color. It reminds me of Melt Laced but Laced it darker. Brunch was not really a shade that is flattering to my skin tone but I had to get it because of the name. Charmed was also a color that is not really suited for me but I wanted to get it so I could see how opaque and pigmented the more "wild" shades were. Leather is my 2nd favorite out of the bunch. It is a great dark vampy color.

Overall I LOVE LOVE LOVE these Lippie Stix. I cant wait to order more! I want to try other Colourpop products too. Especially the eye shadows and highlighters. Colourpop seems to be a great company with affordable products, a huge range of products and great customer service. I am extremely pleased with my experience and cant wait to order more!

What are your favorite Colourpop products? Any recommendations?

Liptini Starlet Cocktail Lipswatch

Liptini Starlet Cocktail and Melt Bane

I wore the lipstick that came in the September Ipsy bag yesterday. I talked about how this color was more berry on my lips so I added a little bit of Melt Cosmetics Bane to the corners and edges. I have been over lining my lips lately because a ton of fine lines are creeping up. Any tips on a good primer to fill them or something to help reduce them?

Table top acrylic makeup organizer!!!

I have been through my share of makeup organization. Started off with a Caboodle, graduated to a train case, accumulated over 200 pots of loose pigments and went to a plastic stackable storage , then to one of those rainbow drawer towers that are used for organizing scrapboox material and now I am using a plastic set of drawers from Lowes that I made my own drawer dividers for. I will do a quick blog post about that tomorrow so you can see my new set up. I got rid of my smaller vanity and went bigger. Now that I have a toddler around getting my makeup done without him getting into all my stuff is an issue. With my current drawer tower I have to have it set sideways under my desk so he cant get into the drawers as easy. That makes it a PAIN to find what I am looking for when I am sitting down to do my makeup. So I decided to buy an acrylic organizer that I could put my everyday products in. This way I can do my everyday face quickly without having to get into my drawers. I found this one on Amazon for only $16.55
On the top I was able to fit my face brushes, a few eye shadow brushes, my brow brush, lipsticks, my Vera Mona Color Switch, foundation, Melt eye shadow stacks, eyelash curler and Eye Kandy glitter glue. That is a lot in a small space!!

The next level is two drawers. One is for my quick face stuff, Benefit Fine-One-One and Watts Up as well as a couple other face things. The other is for mascara and gel eyeliner.

The next level is one large drawer. I keep my face stuff that I use most, Sonia Kashuk foundation stick for contouring, MAC blush, The Balm highlighter, Lorac eyelid primer, NYX Jumbo pencil, eyelash glue and NYX pore filler.

The last level is also a big drawer. I keep this one for new products that I need to try or review. Right now it is home to the samples from my Ipsy and Birchbox as well as a palette I use for my eyebrows.

I am super happy with this purchase. It was a bargain compared to other organizers I have seen. It fits perfectly on my desk. The dimensions of this organizer are  9 3/8"W x 5 3/8"D x 7 1/4"H.

P.S. - I figured I should touch on the Lime Crime products in my organizer. I no longer support, shop or recommend the brand. These products are things I purchased years ago at a makeup show. I still use them from time to time.

September Birchbox

September Birchbox is here!
If you are unfamiliar with Birchbox you can check out their website here and if you want to sign up, you can do so using my affiliate link here. By using my link I get points to use towards full size products! Be sure if you do sign up that you give all of your friends your affiliate link so you can earn extra points too!

Basically Birchbox is a monthly subscription box. Each month you will get a box filled with 5 or more sample sized products that are mainly cosmetic/beauty based. Subscriptions cost $10 per month or annually $110. You can review products and refer friends to earn points good towards full size products in the Birchbox store. It is a really fun way to try a wide range of products for a minimal amount of money!

ModelCo Ultra Long-Lasting Lipstick Trio

$20 for three lipsticks
Stiletto
Birchbox says,  long-lasting, highly-pigmented color that keeps going and going. Creamy and luxurious, it glides on effortlessly, hydrating your lips without the hassle of touch-ups.

I say, great texture and scent. It is hydrating, creamy, high pigmented and glided on. It stayed a bit too tacky for my liking but overall it is nice and it is a great deal getting all three colors for only $20.

$24 for 2.5 oz
Birchbox sayscolor, thermal, and UV protection with this instantly absorbing spray that brings extreme shine to your hair.

I say, WHOA, spray this stuff lightly or else you will look like you have not washed your hair in over a month. The spray nozzle distributed the product weird and made almost no noise so I did not even realize product was coming out until my hair looked like an oil slick. It did bring a nice shine to my hair and seems to be a good product if used lightly.

Wilma Schumann Skincare Hydrating Collagen Eye Pads

$18 for 5 pairs
Birchbox says, solution to fine lines, wrinkles, and puffiness, try these gel pads with 100 percent pure collagen. The hydrating pads plump and restore the youthful appearance around your eyes and enhance eye contour naturally without any scary needles.

I say, I AM IN LOVE WITH THESE!! I was highly skeptical but after 20 minutes my under eye skin looked quite a bit less puffy and the fine lines were reduced. I feel at $18 for 5 pairs that this is a GREAT deal and a fantastic product. I will definitely be buying more of these.

Whish Shave Crave Shaving Cream

$20 for 150 ml
Comes in 7 different scents
Birchbox says, rich lotion is chock full of organic and natural botanicals that soften skin. A moisturizing base of omega-rich squalene, organic shea butter, jojoba oil, and coconut oil protects against the redness and irritation associated with shaving, while organic green tea extracts infuse skin with antioxidants.

I say,  This is a nice shaving lotion. It smells great and leaves the skin feeling very soft and smooth. I personally am not a shave lotion/gel/cream person but if you are than this is a great product for you.

Blueberry

dr. brandt® pores no more® cleanser

$35 for 3.5 fl.
Birchbox says, pore-minimizing face wash. Formulated by celeb dermatologist Dr. Brandt as part of his bestselling pores no more® line, there’s no daily cleanser we trust more.

I say, This face wash is great. It was great last month when I got it as a sample too. Normally I would be annoyed getting the same product two months in a row but in this case I am happy because it is longer I can go without having to buy the full size. This sample size lasts me about a week!

I really liked this months box and look foward to nest months! What samples did you get in your Birchbox this month and what were your favorites?

September Ipsy Bag

My love for getting things in the mail also made me sign back up for the monthly Ipsy bags. I have to say that Ipsy has an edge over Birchbox simply because each month the samples come in cute makeup bag. I normally keep a big drawer filled with things for last minute gifts so these bags are great for that. If you would like to sign up for Ipsy here is my affiliate link. This is also going to be a quick review. Hopefully by next month I will be able to get more blogging time in!

The bag this month was super cute!

I got the lipstick in Starlet Cocktail. The brand is Liptini I think. I had to go to the Ipsy website to find out because I do not see it printed on the label. I liked the color. I tend to only buy true reds and this was more berry on me so it is unique in my lipstick collection. I was not a HUGE fan of the scent or the finish of this lipstick. I am spoiled by Melt and Colourpop on scent and finish.

I liked this face masque but using it once is not enough to really form an opinion on the product.

I really liked this moisturizer. It has a lot of organic ingredients and all natural ingredients. It went on nicely and was not oily or greasy at all. I will probably buy this in full size.

I have not used this nail polish yet. It is a pretty color but I will probably give it to my daughters because I have similar colors in my nail polish collection already.

Pretty color trio but because I have quite a few neutral palettes I am going to keep this one sealed up and put it into my gift drawer!
