Yes To Blueberries Smoothing Cleanser

What is it?  95% natural ingredient cream cleanser for your face.

How much is it? This retails for between $11 and $9. I paid $5 by buying it at Rite Aid and getting a $5 up rewards.

Where to buy it? Ulta, Drug Stores, Target and www.yestocarrots.com

What is it supposed to do? This milk-based gentle facial cleanser will make you say YES to a fresh face. A gentle start to your skincare regimen, this cleanser is formulated with apple, rich in powerful anti-oxidants and natural alpha-hydroxy acids to help refresh and brighten skin; and lemon peel, a naturally derived cleanser to help sweep away dirt and grime and brighten the skin.

What does it ACTUALLY do? This made my face feel VERY soft and moisturized. My face did not really feel refreshed and I did not notice it being brighter. It felt like I washed my face with lotion and no cleanser which I am not a fan of. I like my face to feel moisturized but clean after using a face wash. This cleanser reminded me of why I hated cream cleansers in the past.

Overall thoughts? I only bought this because with the my Rite Aid rewards card it cost $5. I normally buy Say Yes To Carrots cream cleanser for $8 and it is SO MUCH better. I have been using this for over a week and my face is responding to it well. It looks hydrated and smooth but I cant get over the greasy, dirty feeling I have right after washing. I would not buy this cleanser again but would try other items from the Say Yes To Blueberries line.

Have you tried this cleanser? If so what did you think?

Nominations!

Nominations for the holiday gift bags are open!
Do you know a lovely gal who could use a pick me up this Holiday Season?
I will be sending out gift bags filled with
pretty things to gal's in need of a random act of kindness!
Please read below for more info.

I personally believe that kindness and giving are contagious. I want everyone to catch this bug!! I have been blessed to have exactly what I need plus a little more. For me not to share the little more would not be right. Last year I decided to do these gift bags with the intention if purchasing everything myself. I planned to do 10 little bags. Then the light bulb went off and I decided to ask for donations. The response was awesome. So many people contributed and I was able to send to everyone who was nominated. This year I want to be able to send to everyone nominated as well. Money is much tighter for me this year so I am depending a lot on donations which are rolling in as I type this.  I will not know how many bags I am going to be able to do until all of the donations are in which will not be until early December.  I will be taking nominations until November 30th. After all the donations are in I will make up as many bags as I can. I will be writing down nominations in order as they come in. I will do gift bags for as many as I can starting from the first nomination. Everyone nominated WILL get something. I am not sure if it will be a small package or a card with a sample yet. It depends on donations and nominations. To nominate I will need  the nominees full name , address and a little bio on why you feel they need a random act of kindness. It can be anything, If you think they need it then nominate them! I am not judging who gets something based on situations. I will be sending something to everyone regardless of the severity of the story.

Nominations will be taken by EMAIL only. I will not be taking nominations through facebook or blog comments . Anybody who has previously emailed with a nomination will need to resubmit.

Please email Glittermomto6@aol.com with your nominations!

Sugarpill @#$%!

Last month Sugarpill released their limited edition shadow @#$%! to the public. It was alsoa  limited time release and only lasted a few days. I have been on a no buy for basically ever and will continue to be on one for awhile longer but I HAD to have this. I have all the pressed Sugarpill and LOVE them. @#$%! was originally released during IMATS Los Angeles earlier in the year. I was devastated that I missed it. Then it was available a few months ago on Beautylish but you had to buy a HeartBreaker palette which I already had so when this came up for sale on the Sugarpill website I figured out a way to get it. This is sold out and I have no idea if Sugarpill will release it again .
This purchase was considered a HUGE splurge for me. I paid roughly $18 for this with shipping. OUCH!! But like I said, I needed it, this shadow was a nessescity. All pressed Sugarpill is a need...not a want LOL. So my order came within a few days, packaged to perfection and with a sample, sticker and promo card for the new pressed palettes that hopefully will be coming out soon.

@#$%! is a deep, true glittery red which is going to be perfect for the holidays! I found the texture of this shadow to be softer than the other pressed Sugarpill shadows but equal in pigmentation.

@#$%!
Left is over NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk
Right is over bare skin
Natural light

@#$%! with flash

@#$%! in sunlight with a pig <3
@#$%! is similar enough to Love+ so if you missed out on @#$%! and have Love+ you are okay. Well that is if you are a normal person. Not like me who would die if I do not have all the pressed shadows from Sugarpill. When swatched over a white base @#$%! did appear to be a deeper red than Love+ but still very close in color.

Left Top - Love+ over NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk
Left Bottom - Love+ over bare skin
Right Top -  @#$%! over NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk
Right Bottom - @#$%! over bare skin

Did you pick up @#$%!? If so what did you think? How do you like the pressed formula with glitter over the normal matte formula? I have yet to use this in a real look, I used it by just patting it on my lids on Halloween but have no tried blending with it yet. If you have, tell me what you think!!

Mon Ennui Swatches!

Vivi from Mon Ennui very generously donated to the Holiday Gift Bags I am giving away again this year and she was super sweet and included 4 jars of pigments for me! Thank you Vivi!! To find out more about the gift bags click here and if you would like to see previous Mon Ennui reviews and swatches click here.

Seafoam and Saltwater and Koi
Little Pink Pill and Status Symbol

Seafoam and Saltwater along with Little Pink Pill were my faves out of the bunch. Status Symbol is a fabulous blue and Koi is a bright true orange. I personally have no figured out how to use duochromes in a look without making them just look muddy but I will practice a lot with Seafoam and Saltwater due to its beauty!
Swatches with flash

Swatches in the sunlight with a pig <3

I used Little Pink Pill along with Status Symbol for this look. To deepen the color in the crease I used some In The Navy which is a nice dark navy blue also by Mon Ennui.

Mon Ennui has a TON of gorgeous pigments to choose from  in full and samples sizes. The duochromes are amazing! Go check them out!!

Accidental Awesomeness......

I am so super happy!! You have no idea!! Last year when I first bleached my hair it was with the intentions of doing teal over the bleached hair. Well the hair turned a disgusting form of gold so red went over it. A few months later I decided to go to the salon and get some purple streaks. Still not what I was looking for so I started bleaching myself again. It worked nicely but my hair was never light enough to go teal so I did purple. I loved the purple and everyone else did too, I got a ton of compliments every time I went out. I was content on keeping the purple and did for quite awhile now. Last week I decided I needed to do my roots. I am an old lady and the grays were looking a bit gross. So I went to Sally Beauty Supply and picked up Kaleidocolors violet based bleach along with Clairol Creme Developer in Volume 30.

I mixed in a little too much developer so I was afraid that it was not going to lighten my hair. I had a small section in the back of my head that was black still and never bleached. I put the bleach on that first and then realized I may not have enough to do my whole head. After that I did my roots and then applied it to the previously bleached areas. In the past when I put bleach on the pieces that were bleached before they would turn white almost instantly. This time they turned green. I was horrified and happy at the same time . You can see in the picture the roots also were not processing very light. In the end they turned a golden yellow color and the rest was green or teal. It was really strange.

Since I had been waiting, hoping, wishing and yearning for the day my hair was white/light enough to add the teal seeing the teal/green bleached pieces made me ECSTATIC!!!! I had a bottle of Raw dye that my gorgeous teal haired gem of a friend sent me last year waiting for me in my medicine cabinet. I had a sample of Loreal Sulfate Free EverCreme shampoo and conditoner so after I rinsed the bleach out I used it. OH MY GOSH.....My hair felt AMAZING. It really did not feel like it had been processed at it. In fact, it felt better than it did before bleaching!

I set up a station with Manic Panic Ultra Violet and Raw Twisted Teal along with a couple paint brushes and went to town. I applied Ultra Violet to my roots and anything yellow or still purple and applied Twisted Teal to anything green or teal. The results are what I have been wanting forever!!! I am so happy!!!

Pictures do not do this hair justice!! There is so much color variation going on and my camera will not pick it all up. I have purples, greens, teals and blue and it looks so cool!! I am so happy with this accident!

My only complaint is touching it up is going to be a bit more of a pain now. Before I could just slop a whole bunch of purple dye all over and now I have to do it by sections. This turned out so awesome so I am okay with the extra work though. I have heard that teal/blues fade out really fast but since my bleached hair was green/teal maybe it wont fade so bad. I am going to try and wash my hair less and use a sulfate free shampoo so hopefully it will be vibrant in between touch ups!

Holiday Shopping Spotight on..... Batts Audio, Video and Lighting

First up in my Holiday Shopping Spotlight is Batts Audio, Video and Lighting. You are probably wondering what this company has to do with beauty/cosmetics. Let me tell you, this company has the BEST selection of Ben Nye! Ben Nye is by FAR the best priced and best quality cosmetic line out there in my opinion. I have bough and reviewed many Ben Nye products and all were purchased from Batts AVL. You can check out all my reviews here.  I have so many Ben Nye products on my Christmas list! Below is just a TINY selection of the products Batts AVL carry. If you are a makeup lover or you are buying a gift for one I can hands down recommend buying them some Ben Nye. I like buying from Batts AVL because they have great pricing, fast shipping and the best customer service!

Ben Nye Final Seal - This is a great product for keeping your makeup looking perfect all day! You can see my review here.

Ben Nye Grand Lumiere Palette - This palette is gorgeous, the colors are buttery and blend like magic. You can see my review here.

Ben Nye Rouge Palette is on my Christmas List!! So is Ben Nye Brush Cleaner.

Ben Nye offers a FULL line of cosmetics. They have everything you can think of from brushes to blushes, eye shadows in pressed, powder, cream, sparkle, matte and more. Concealers, foundations, primers, sealers, lipsticks, glosses and if you are into special effects or stage makeup than Ben Nye is for you. Ben Nye is primarily known for their stage/special effects makeup. More people need to try there mainstream cosmetics. They are MUCH higher quality than any drug store makeup and in most cases higher quality than high end makeup. I prefer my Ben Nye Lipsticks over MAC any day! Ben Nye is also much cheaper than most high end makeup. It is a little more than drug store makeup for most items! I urge you to try them!

Ben Nye Blushes are only $9 each!!  Ben Nye Glitter Glue is also on my Christmas list!!

I love my Ben Nye Lip Colours! You can see my review of Ben Nye Lip Palette here.
