True Blood LipSurgence by Tarte

When I found out that my two favorite things were going to be
combined I almost died!!
Tarte LipSurgence and True Blood!!
SHUT UP!!!!!!!!
I snatched this bad boy from Sephora as soon as it
debuted! It arrived today with some other goodies.
The price tag for this limited edition and all other LipSurgence products is
a hefty $24 which in my opinion is high but worth it.
Product description taken from Sephora.

What it is:

What it does:

Lips with flash
Natural Light
So far I have read mixed reviews on this LipSurgence.
Quite a few people think it is not red enough and they expected
a bold true red. If you are familiar with LipSurgence you know
they are a lip tint, not a lipstick or stain. They all have a
sheerness to them. I think this LipSurgence gives a nice
just bitten look or kissed look.

I personally feel clownish in true reds so this is perfect for me!

Are you buying anything from the Tarte True Blood collection?
Have you tried LipSurgence?
What do you think about them??

Beauty on a Budget

I am starting a new segment called
"Beauty on a Budget"
I am going to be featuring low cost products that
in my opinion are the same or better than
higher price products of the same type!

Ready, set, here I go!!

You all know I love love love my
It retails for around $10.00.

Want a cheaper alternative that is even better than the NYX marker?
Then meet the
INCOLOR Fabuliner by Jordana
This retails for less than $3.00 and is available at
Walgreens and I found mine at Sears.
This liner is awesome! It is super wet and goes on smoothly.
I like this better than the NYX Super Skinny Marker because
the tip seems more rigid and sturdy. The NYX marker has a
softer tip that has started to fray. It makes lining the outer eye a pain.

The NYX liner (top) has a smaller tip and looks more rigid but
it is not. The Jordana liner (bottom) has a larger tip but seems to apply
more precise.
Overall I love both these liners but I will be buying the Incolor Fabuliner by
Jordana from now on due to the superior tip and lower price!

Next up is primer.
When I started wearing loose pigments everyone
told me I needed a primer and that Urban Decay Primer Potion was
the only way to go. I almost died when I seen the $19 price tag.
It took  a good 5 months for me to actually buy some because of the price.

Want a cheaper alternative that is equal in performance?
Then meet
Eyelid Primer by e.l.f!
This retails for $1.00!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been using these both over the last month and
I notice no difference. I have normal eyelids that tend to get
oily after 8 hours of wearing makeup and I still had minimal
creasing with both primers.
UDPP (top) and e.l.f ( bottom) have similar applicators.
UDPP is bent and seems more porous but other than that they
are alike.
UDPP and e.l.f primer.
UDPP has a bit more slick formula than e.l.f primer.

I wish I had known about e.l.f primer before I bought my
Urban Decay Primer Potion. I would have saved $17 and
that could have been spent on more makeup!
grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!
I most definitely will NOT be buying anymore UDPP .
I like e.l.f primer much better because of the $1 price tag and
because it works just as well as UDPP.

Do you know of a product that I should feature on
Beauty on a Budget?
If so email me at glittermomto6@aol.com

Have you tried any of these products? If so what did you think?

Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush and Bronzer

I had been eyeballing this  Happy Booster line from
Physician's Formula for sometime but could not justify the $14 price tag.
I went to Rite Aid to buy an
ice chest and did my normal makeup aisle browsing and happened
to see these on sale. They were buy one get one free and the blush had a
$4 off coupon attached to the front of the box and the bronzer had a $3
off coupon. So total spent was $7 for both!
Great deal!!
I love the look of these. Too cute! They have a light
violet scent that smells great.

Here is a description taken from the product listing.

Experience the Mood Boosting Effect
  • Infused without Happy Boost Blend, featuring Happy Skin* and Euphoryl, natural plant extract which have been shown to promote a feeling of happiness by mimicking the effect of Endorphins and helping protect the skin from environmental stress.
  • The sweet scent of Violet provides a feeling of joy each time you apply.
Both the Blush and Bronzer are nice and smooth.
They applied easily and looked nice.

Blush and Bronzer swatched in Natural Light.

I really like both of these. The blush is a tad too pink for my
skin tone but applied lightly it looks nice.
I think the normal pricing of $14 is INSANE for
a drug store brand.
Overall I am pleased with this purchase.

Have you tried the Happy Booster products from Physician's Formula?

Moi Minerals Look

I used pigments by Moi Minerals for this look!
I felt like doing a whimsical glitter filled look.
I used Angel Eyes on the inner tear duct area.
I blended Pink Pearls and Voluptuous together on my eyelid
and then used Panic on the outer edge and blended up and in

Antoinette's Revolution Cosmetics unveils another new color!

Marie Therese, a soft shimmery lavender sure to please the most finicky of princesses.
Shimmery and on the blue side, it's a really lovely addition if you prefer softer shades.

 I love this purple!!

Here is a look I did recently using all of the purples
ARC offers including Marie Therese!

Here is all the purples swatched together!!
Such awesome variations!!

Rockeresque Cosmetics

The lovely Issanna from Rockeresque Beauty Company sent
me some samples to try out!
The packaging is adorable!
I feel it is a bit much for samples but
gorgeous none the less.

I received XOXO, My Monster, Peppermint Gummy Bear
and Hollywood.

The labeling rocks!
Everything you need to know is contained on this
tiny square!

Samples all potted up!

The colors are very pretty. They are pigmented and
applied nicely. Blending was a breeze!

Swatches in sunlight.
Pricing-
$6.00 for a 5 gram pot
If you buy one sample shipping is $1.00 but if you buy more
than one or pots shipping is a flat rate of $5.00.

Here is a look I did using Hollywood in the tear duct area.
Peppermint Gummy Bear all over the lid and My Monster
on the outer edge blended up and in.

Overall thoughts-

I like this company.
The pigments are opaque and easy to work with.
I feel like the pricing is a bit above average and
I dislike the $5.00 shipping but I understand why it is so high.
They ship the product in a cute black box inside of a shipping box.
No bubble or polymailers!
I plan on making a sample order soon because quite
a few of the colors caught my eye.

If so what did you think?
What colors are must haves?

Revolution + Liaisons = WINNING!

I felt like something dark and smoky looking so I pulled
I have a bunch of dark colors that I have not
used yet by this company. I chose my all time favorite
hot pink, Liaison's and paired it with
Revolution which is a gorgeous black.

ARC3
Revolution looks purple in this look because I blended Liaisons heavily
into it. I also used my finger to really blend out the edges and give it a smoky look.

Spellbound by Jynx Review

The owner of Spellbound by Jynx recently contacted me and asked
to send me some samples to try.
I had never heard of this company so I googled.
I found information on a company facebook page and an Artfire shop.
My interest was peaked so I agreed to the review.

Here is some info taken from the bio section of Spellbound By Jynx Artfire shop.
We are a new cosmetic company, here to bring you beautiful make up at a great price!
All of our products are custom blended, NONE are repackaged. Ingredients are listed under each picture, and if you would like a full ingredient list just ask!

My package arrived quickly and was packaged well.
The samples were hand labeled with the color name but lacked an ingredient list.
I was able to find full ingredient lists on each product in the Artfire shop.

- Pricing for a 5g sifter jar is US $3.99, 10g jar for US $8.25.
- Every full size jar is packaged in a sealed sifter jar, complete with sifter seal!
- Samples are US $1.00 each, and each order includes two samples, chosen at random.
Truthfully I was not very excited about these colors or this company until
I started swatching. The colors are really pretty.
They all were opaque and applied easily.
The colors that really stood out to me were Saffy, Blue Steel, Impulse
and Napalm Tang.

Swatches in the sunlight.

The colors that stood out in this set were Wizard of Oz, Wink,
Phoenix, Bubble and Blue Oyster.

Swatches in the sunlight.

Here I used Bubble, Saffy and Napalm Tang.
 These colors are gorgeous!
They were perfect for this soft girlish look.

This look is Impulse on the lid with Phoenix in the crease
blended up. Phoenix is the most amazing color!

Overall thoughts-
I like this company.
I only tried the baggie samples so I can't say how the normal packaging is.
Pricing is below average I assume because they
are a new company and want to drum up business.
Spellbound by Jynx offers a nice array of color choices and
the formula they use for the pigments is good.
It is opaque, blends well and has decent staying power.
One of the things I dislike is how they have the products labeled
in the Artfire shop. They list the color type before the actual color
name and Artfire cuts the name off so you can not shop easily if
you are looking for a particular color name.

Have you tried Spellbound by Jynx?
If so, what did you think?
