EOTD, RAMM, Aloe Vera and Mascara

I was RAMMed today. Before you freak out and think I am some sort of pervert it means Random Act Mineral Makeup. It is a thing that one of my makeup group does. They just randomly send out makeup treats!! Christie Brooks was kind enough to send me all of this ( I potted the baggie samples)

The blue, yellow and purple were all made by Christie. I have dubbed the blue , "Glitterlips", the yellow, "Christie" and the purple "Cupcake". The pinkish white is from Candy's Sweet Treats and the brown color is from Elohi Cosmetics

Thank you Christie!!!

Here is a look I did, I used Mondo from Madd Style and Glitterlips made by Christie

So now on to the Aloe Vera. I have this book

It has a wealth of information inside it. From housecleaning to beauty, it has recipes and instructions on how to make a TON of different things. I have read it cover to cover but I will just randomly open it up and read whatever page I happen upon. A couple of weeks ago I landed on Aloe Vera. The author said that she started using Aloe Vera on her face and it completely erased her age spots.Aloe Vera is antibacterial, antiseptic,an astringent, anti-inflammatory, an emollient, it is moisturizing and it heals skin. Sounds like a miracle worker ! I am started to get some fine lines on my face so I decided to try this out. I rub some Aloe Vera gel on my face 2 times daily. The first week I saw nothing and was discouraged but now in the second week I clearly see a difference. I normally have red spots and some small acne here and there but right now my face is totally clear. NO blemishes at all. I do think I need more moisture still but the Aloe Vera is definitely working!

About the mascara.....I am annoyed on this one. I asked my friends what mascara they used to get an idea of what I should try out. Loreal Telescopic was suggested a couple times and I found a coupon for $1 off. Sweet!!! I got to Target and the Loreal Telescopic Explosion was on sale for $5.99. Even sweeter!!!
( I will note, I am not annoyed by my friends, I am annoyed that Telescopic Explosion is different than just plain Telescopic)

Well until I got home and opened it. This is the applicator. It is strange to say the least. I am having issues with applying it. It takes forever because the shape. Do any of you use this? Any tips?
I will definitely be getting new mascara next time I am at Target!!

Make sure you enter my giveaway! I will announce the winner tomorrow morning!!

Madd Style and my 2 cents!

My awesome friend Sarah-Michelle ( who is a total sweetheart) got me some Madd Style Madd Piggiez! I  lurk over at the Madd Style fanpage on Facebook and I happened to see an AWESOME look on one of the girls done with Electric Kool- Aid.
I was sold at that point but was out of fun money so SM got me 3 colors to try out! Thank you again SM!!!!
My order came in about a week which is awesome because I am sooo impatient. Everything was packed VERY well and looked great!

I got Mondo, Electric Kool-Aid and Disco Biscuit. All were sealed with sifter stickers!!
Yay for sifter stickers!!!

Electric Kool-Aid is just RAD! It is a perfect bright purple. I am in LOVE with it! I am still using my awful gross camera and it does these colors NO JUSTICE. This pigment has a blue shimmer to it.

Mondo, apparently I love purple!! I haven't used this one. I only swatched it with my brush!

Disco Biscuit. If I imagine a perfect color this it is LOL. I love this!! Once again my camera sucks and is not showing the true awesomeness of this pigment!
I feel freaking awesome in this makeup today!! I haven't had too many good makeup days lately so this was a much needed self esteem boost!

I used Electric Kool-Aid and Disco Biscuit with some pale white sparkle dust over it all!

(Once again I have to aologize for the horrible pictures, my new camera will be here next week)

So my .02 cents about Madd Style is this:  I love it! The quality of the colors is AWESOME and the color options are right up my alley, Bright and Bold. I have already ordered again and I am sure I will be ordering over and over again! Madd Style has specials ( 3 pigments for $10) quite often which is great for building a stash. The normal price per 5 gram pot is $5 which is totally affordable. Items ship FAST and are packed perfectly.

Ok so if you read this far you get a treat!! I have not used Mondo yet and the first person to comment below will get a free sample of it send to you for FREE!!!

Earth Angel Minerals and my 2 cents

I recently came across  Earth Angel Minerals on etsy. I had been browsing different mineral makeup companies and was impressed by this shop. The policy page gives you a TON of info. I decided to try out some samples and did the "Any 5 samples for $5 ". I liked this deal because you could choose from eye pigment, blush, bronzer, concealer or foundation AND the samples come in clamshells not baggies!!

I receievd my order yesterday and was impressed right away. The packaging and labeling was perfect!

I do have a complaint though, I ordered on Jan 14th and I did not get my package until Jan 27th.  The owner did contact me on the 20th and explained she had been sick and that she added in some extra samples for me.

When it came time to pick my samples I decided to choose enough samples for my whole face.

My first pick was Buttercream. It is touted as a customer favorite and the description says it helps neutralize skin tones, conceals and can be used as an eye primer.

I used it on my eyes instead of my normal primer and I wasnt impressed with it, but it did work great as a concealer.

My second choice was a foundation. I chose Summer Beige.

I will say that I have no experience using mineral foundation. I did like this and the coverage was nice. I normally use a very lightweight "whipped" foundation and I think I prefer it over this powder based foundation.

My third choice was a bronzer. I LOVE bronzer. I normally use a cream bronzer but I think I like this version better.

( it is not this dark, the camera color is off)

I chose Love Me and Primary Purple as my eye colors. Love Me can also be used as lip pigment and as a blush! The owner sent me Kaleidoscope and Pink Ribbon as freebies!

I did a full face look with these samples.
Here is the before:

and the after

These pigments reminded me of my first experience with mineral makeup. It did not go well. I did not use my normal primer or NYX pencil, instead I used the Buttercream powder as primer. The pigments did not stick well nor were they very vivid. I applied it wet ( foiled) and they were brighter and very nice. When I swatched you can clearly see that a base/primer would have made a huge difference.

This company seems to really know what they are doing and they have quality products. I really like the bronzer and the foundation was nice. I would most likely buy some for my sister to use in place of her Bare Minerals. As for the eye pigments I  would not buy again mainly because they colors all seem a bit too "tame" for me. They are all pretty but too neutral for my taste.

Ok, if you read through all of that then you deserve something!
I also got these 2 mineral eye pigments as freebies!
